The Ithaca Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau is currently seeking a part-time Agriculinary Tourism Coordinator. From their Indeed.com posting:
“If you believe that it’s important to know where your food comes from and if you love Tompkins County, then we are looking for you to join the Visit Ithaca team! We are looking for a highly organized and energetic person to fill this grant supported Agriculinary Tourism Coordinator position. The newly created contract position will help interested Tompkins County farms and culinary businesses, which source locally, prepare to welcome visitors.
The successful candidate will work in partnership with Cornell Cooperative Extension and the Ithaca Tompkins County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) to administer a microgrant program, prepare for Open Farm Days in August, and help farmers and farm businesses open a new stream of revenue. Strong copywriting, project management and interpersonal skills a must.”
According to the post, the ideal candidate will also have knowledge of the farm, argiculture, and tourism industries, as well as project management success, database and website management skills, and two years of experience in a related field.
