Recently, I read an NPR article about an Indian woman who escaped domestic violence in part because she got a job cooking in a school kitchen. This woman’s story took place a world away, but I wondered, are there parallel stories here in Ithaca?
Do you know of someone whose life was changed by a job in the food system? Or, someone whose life was changed when they finally had access to a steady source of food? A story where food was just the beginning, and a ripple effect of positive change followed?
