Bellwether Hard Cider and Wine Cellars is hiring part time tasting room and event staff. We have a busy Cayuga Lake Wine Trail tasting room, located 5 miles north of Taughannock State Park on Route 89. We also attend various offsite tastings and farmer’s markets, including some evening events. We are currently seeking part time employees for both weekend and weekday shifts. Preference will be given to candidates who are available beginning immediately and through our busy Fall season.

Tasting room job duties include, but are not limited to:
-Greeting customers as they arrive
-Leading tastings with customers
-Assisting customers with cider/wine purchases
-Operating the cash register accurately
-Restocking cider/wine and gift shop items
-Washing glassware and other service items
-Opening and closing the tasting room
-General cleaning and upkeep of the tasting room, restrooms, backstock area, outdoor area around the building, including the patio and seating area

Successful candidates will be:
-21 or older
-Able to lift 50 lbs (a case of cider/wine)
-Comfortable standing for long periods of time
-Well groomed, with a neat, professional appearance
-Comfortable interacting with the public; a background in customer service is strongly preferred
-Knowledgeable and/or eager to learn about the local beverage and food industry
-Team players, able to work collegially with other staff and our cider/winemakers
-Self-starters who can work independently when necessary
-Animal lovers –we have 2 resident cats and several dogs that are often at the cidery, and we welcome visiting dogs in the tasting room
-Reliable, and have reliable transportation
-Available most weekends, including holidays such as Memorial Day, Columbus Day (however we are also looking for people with some weekday availability)
