Community Supported Agriculture info sessions available for your workplace

Announcement from CCE-TC:

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a mutually supportive and cooperative relationship between the farmer and the consumer.  Customers pay for a crop “share” in advance, and receive a weekly supply of farm fresh produce.  Pickup is either on the farm or delivered to a convenient locations such as a workplace or farmers’ market.

The number of CSA shareholders and CSA businesses has been growing quickly in the Tompkins County area of the past 5 years, and to support that trend Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County is available to do CSA information sessions at your workplace in April and May.  We will discuss what CSA is and how to choose between all the options, considering pickup locations, different CSA models, products available, and more.  Some farms will even create a pickup at your workplace with sufficient interest!  Timing is flexible but typically half an hour is a good fit.  To schedule an info session, please contact Avi Miner, Local Food Educator at CCE Tompkins, atagm32@cornell.edu or call 607-272-2292.
